Never had an issue. Works great. I only use it to extract files from .rar and it does so without effort and fast. A great tool especially when bringing over my PC mess into Mac

This app got me rock hard

I used Stuffit Expander for years but the old version has not been updated in a long time. The new version Stuffit Expander 16 is slow, buggy, and not seamless. It did not even associate compressed files with the App so I had to manually set all of them under the file “Info” page to even get it to recognize them. Also it froze a lot. The Unarchiver installed very quick and immediately my compressed files in the downloads folder were associated with it, clicked on them and it asked for the output location, it remembered my preference for this, and the files were compelted super fast. Works just like the old Stuffit Expander. Easy, painless, and fast.

I cannot speak fully on the complete feature set of The Unarchiver, but honestly I do not care. I keep it around to deal with all of the non-zip archives that I receive. I have not yet encountered something that this app cannot extract, so I give it five stars. It is unobtrusive and my experience has been that it just works. No fuss, no complicated dialogues, it unarchives things that I want it to unarchive.

My kids wanted to create mods for Minecraft so we had to unarchive the file. This did the trick and is easy to use.

While working on an animation I wanted to include clips from work done and archived in 2008. Other stuff in .zips from that same project opened without a hitch. There was one fat juicy .zip that refused to open, even after trying Terminal and Pacifist. Grrrr. I checked out the App store and found this miraculous App, The Unarchiver. It worked like magic. The zip unzipped. All the files in it were just perfect - nothing was corrupt. Thank You, I’m so grateful this App could overcome the Error 1 and unzipped my stored work!

What more can you ask for? This little utility has been the first thing I download on a new machine for years. It’ll open just about any type of compressed file you encounter and does so seamlessly. I’m surprised Apple hasn’t bought them and replaced the native expander. The Unarchiver has never let me down.

I’ve been battling an archived zip file that was corrupted to the point I couldn’t even move or copy the file anywhere. Downloaded this app, and it unarchived all the files perfectly, without any issues! Great app!

Went into the prefererences and tried to select .bin. Application won’t let me select it and can’t extract .bin file.

It was great when it started out, i used it to unarchive a thing, but then it started to get annoying when its trying to UNARCHIVE .EXE. i hate it

Crashes the moment I open a .zip file. It’s always been a little flakey, but it’s become worse with each new OS release. Time for something else..

Does NOT work with Mac OS Yosemite, and Apple does NOT plan on fixing the issue. Im really mad about it, This was/is a Great app.

The app is one of the best around here. You deserve 10 stars!

When you launch the app, a window opens which supposedly lets you select which files you want Unarchiver to open - but the screen has a black window across it which prevents you from making any selection. Therefore, no matter WHAT file type you try to open with Unarchiver, it informs you it can’t open it. That sucking sound you hear is your money going down the drain. I give it one star because the option for negative (which is what you’re left with when not only doesn’t the software work, but you’ve wasted precious time and money on it) isn’t available.

I can’t get it past the first step. Won’t let me open using the file. I have to delete it now cause it wont work and their no customer support!!!!! 1 star
